Description
The Microsoft Application Platform and Developer Marketing group is looking for a senior leader with strong vision and outstanding leadership skills to drive the strategy and execution of the BizTalk Server business. BizTalk is the leader in the Enterprise Integration software space, with over 8,500 customers including 81% of the Fortune Global 100 companies. It is one of the fastest growing server businesses at Microsoft, and is at the center of Microsoft’s strategy to win in the enterprise. As the business leader for BizTalk, you’ll have an opportunity to make a difference driving the strategy and execution of this $100+ million business.
This is a unique high-profile role that will interact with executive leadership across the Server and Tools and other businesses, and engineering, marketing and sales leaders across Microsoft. Enterprise Integration is a strategic area that spans a broad range of solutions, from mature scenarios like Enterprise Application Integration and Business to Business Integration, to new/emerging scenarios like RFID and Business Activity Monitoring. BizTalk plays a critical role across these areas, partnering with other products like SQL Server, SharePoint, Dynamics and Office.
The Director of BizTalk Product Management will be responsible for the overall business and product strategy, as well as execution of the business including accountability for our revenue goals and other scorecard metrics. This position requires extensive cross-group collaboration and influence skills, strong business and thought leadership, ability to drive process and structure, and the ability to deliver comprehensive business reviews to senior levels of the company. The successful candidate will be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, partnering closely with groups across the company, and driving measurable results.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Lead a high performing team to deliver best-in-class marketing and the ability to respond to new business requirements and changing market trends
• Drive Enterprise Integration business strategy to meet long-term revenue and share goals, aligning with the Application Server, Data Platform and Developer Platform direction
• Lead product planning, including market opportunity analysis, competitive analysis, scenario development and feature prioritization in close partnership with engineering
• Build business plans and execution to penetrate key customer segments, including alignment with EPG, partner and industry teams
• Drive marketing strategy for BizTalk, create and maintain key marketing content, and drive awareness with our key internal and external audiences
• Manage business performance on an ongoing basis, partnering with Finance and other teams to understand revenue and unit drivers
• Land corporate guidance and programs in the subsidiaries by providing benchmarking and best practices as well as engaging in regular rhythm of communications and planning.
The ideal candidate will have Director-level product management experience, preferably including experience in the enterprise software space. The candidate will have 7+ years of experience in product management and/or product marketing, and be extremely passionate about growing a business. The candidate needs to be technical enough to drive meaningful discussions directly with our customers, field and partners about our solutions (level 200). Successful candidates will demonstrate good strategic thinking ability and excellent communications skills, with a proven track record for delivering high quality results. The candidate will be autonomous, results-driven, and a demonstrated ability to influence cross group agendas (including at an executive level) and drive non-reporting teams to perform.
